Health Day at CREFER: our learners learn about nutrition and well-being

On Wednesday 19 November 2025, CREFER welcomed an information and awareness day to its Totsi campus, organised by the association Santé Éducation as part of the 7th edition of MaBEST, Togo's Food, Well-being and Health Fair. The goal: to help our learners adopt healthy habits in terms of health, diet and lifestyle.

Health professionals meet our learners

Several organisations presented their services: SHINEWAY Healthcare and its natural food supplements, the midwives of Bonjour Bébé on maternal and reproductive health, CHAMPISO on the benefits of mushrooms, and Maïvit with its vitamin-enriched foods.

Basile Mignaké, chair of the MaBEST organising committee, pointed to the rise of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. He encouraged young people to move more, eat better and look after their lifestyle.

Health, a condition for success

For Komla Awute, Managing Director of CREFER, good health is a condition for success in school and at work. He welcomed an initiative that naturally complements our learners' technical training.

The learners appreciated very practical discussions: managing sugar intake day to day for some, reproductive health for young women for others. A useful day, and a reminder that a good technician is first of all a healthy person.
